Is this right for me?
Maybe you are feeling overwhelmed with the demands of daily life or are experiencing a significant event, a change or lack direction with where you want to go in life. Maybe you are struggling with relationships, or maybe you just need a listening ear. We believe everything is relevant and there is never a wrong time to seek support.
Psychological support is different than speaking to friends and family, we have specific skills that offer you deeper insights and understanding as to what is happening for you, and resolutions for moving forward.
You also don’t need to be diagnosed with a mental health disorder to seek support, you may just want someone to speak to.
What can I expect in my first session?
It can feel overwhelming and confronting seeing a psychologist for the first time. It is our top priority to make you feel as safe and comfortable as possible.
In the first session, we may ask you questions about your current situation with work, family, relationships, hobbies and other background information. In the first session we may also find out more about your life history. At the end of this session we will work out goals to work on together in the following sessions.
What if I need to cancel my session?
We understand life gets busy however your commitment to therapy is important.
You can always reschedule and you will receive email reminders of your appointments, however if you choose to cancel within the 24 hour time frame of your appointment you will be charged your full session fee.
What do I need for online psychological support? How does it work?
For our online support, you will need a secure internet connection, a laptop, desktop, phone or tablet which offers video teleconferencing features. You may be required to download the video app onto your device. Once we approve your booking , your therapist will send you the link to the session, and will contact you during your time slot.
We have chosen a very secure teleconferencing system to ensure that we can be accessed by anybody in Australia. However, like any system on the internet, there may be some risk included, we will discuss this in our initial session.
Do you offer rebates?
We have the capacity to accept Medicare Health Rebates under the Mental Health Care Plan. To To be eligible for a rebate, you can get a mental health care plan from your GP or psychiatrist. If you have questions about this, please reach out to me.
Who is able to see you?
We welcome any clients over the age of 18 years of age.
I don’t want to be in therapy forever!
Absolutely, we get that! We never keep clients in therapy longer than needed. Our goal is to give you the tools and strategies to feel empowered to live your best life, without the need for ongoing therapy.
There is no obligation to continue with any of our sessions and you can let us know at any time if you’d like to pause or stop sessions.
