COUNSELLING WITH TESS
Feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure what to do next?
I can help you make sense of what’s going on and work out what you need to move forward. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck or uncertain, without knowing exactly what to do next. You may have tried talking to friends and family, listening to podcasts, accessing an EAP, seeing a psychologist before, or finding advice online - but still feel like something is missing.
Perhaps you’re struggling with patterns or coping strategies that you know aren’t helping, or carrying experiences that feel difficult or embarrassing to talk about. It’s okay to not know what you need before you come to therapy. I can help you understand what’s happening, build awareness of the patterns keeping you stuck, gain a different perspective and develop practical strategies that fit your life.
Together, we can work towards greater clarity, confidence and a sense of direction to help you move forward.
Counselling is a collaborative process tailored to you, your needs and what you want to work towards.
We’ll create a safe space to understand what’s going on, explore patterns and develop practical strategies to help you move forward.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you begin.
-
Imagine feeling clearer about what’s going on for you with more tools and strategies to support you moving forward.

You feel more grounded, capable and in control of your next steps - with a greater sense of clarity, confidence and direction in your life.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Maybe you are feeling stressed and overwhelmed with the demands of daily life or you may be experiencing a significant event or big life change. Maybe you are struggling with relationships, or maybe you just need a listening ear. We believe everything is relevant and there is never a wrong time to seek support.
You may have already tried talking things through with friends or family, listening to podcasts, reading books or even using ChatGPT to make sense of what you’re going through. These can all be helpful, but sometimes you need something different.
Psychological support gives you a space to slow down, unpack what’s going on and look at things from a different perspective. Together, we can make sense of the patterns you’re experiencing and work out practical ways forward.
You also don’t need to be diagnosed with a mental health disorder to seek support, you may just want someone to talk to.

Seeing a psychologist for the first time can feel a little overwhelming and scary. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, comfortable and able to be yourself.
We’ll spend some time getting to know you and what’s been happening in your life. I might ask about things like your relationships, work, family, experiences, interests and what’s brought you to counselling.
We’ll also talk about what you’d like to get from therapy, whether online counselling is a good fit for you, and go through confidentiality and consent.
And you’re always in control of what you share. You can tell me as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, and we’ll go at your pace.
-
I never keep clients in therapy longer than needed.
In fact, my goal is to empower you and provide you with the tools and strategies you can implement in your life, without the need for ongoing therapy.
Additionally, there is no obligation with any of our sessions to continue, you can let us know at any time if you’d like to pause or stop sessions.

AI can be a great tool for information, ideas and reflection. Seeing a psychologist offers something different - a real human relationship, professional expertise and support tailored to you.
A psychologist can provide a neutral, outside perspective, helping you explore different ways of seeing a situation rather than simply reinforcing your existing thoughts or assumptions. Together, we can notice patterns, understand what’s happening and work out practical ways forward.
AI can be useful alongside therapy, but it doesn’t replace the human connection and personalised support of working with a psychologist.

I understand life gets busy however your commitment to therapy is important.
You can always reschedule and you will receive email reminders of your appointments, however if you choose to cancel within the 48 hour time frame of your appointment you will be charged your full session fee.
-
Both online and in-person therapy can be effective, and the right option really comes down to what feels comfortable and works best for you.
Online therapy offers the flexibility of connecting from home, while in-person sessions provide a dedicated, private space away from everyday life. I’ll also consider whether online therapy is appropriate for your individual needs.
If you are unsure whether online is a right fit for you, I recommend booking in a Meet + Greet to chat more about it.
